The JavaPerformanceTuning.com Tool Reports are designed to help readers make
informed choices about the tools they may wish to use. JavaPerformanceTuning.com
provides these reports as a service to our readers, there is no charge to
tool vendors or authors.
If you are a vendor or creator of such a tool, and would like to have your tool
presented, please
contact us.
But do please note that we work on a first-completed, first-published basis.
There is already a queue of vendors and freeware authors creating
submissions for this column, so if you want your tool to be presented
in the near future, contact us sooner rather than later.
If you know of a tool you think should be reported here, please contact
the tool author or the tool vendor marketing department
Our writing guidelines for the article is as follows:
- What is the tool called
- What does the tool do
- How to install the tool
- e.g. - download from the URL ...
- put it in x directory, or add jar to classpath or import ...
- A detailed example of using the tool
- e.g. - here's a simple app/servlet/jsp/ejb
- e.g. - here's what you need to do to enable the app/servlet/jsp/ejb to be measured
- e.g. - here's a sample output/picture/graph/... from some runs (real or test)
- e.g. - here's what we work out from using the tool
- One paragraph of information about the author or company
We will work with you to ensure that the article is optimally
presentable. But do please note that we only publish one article
per month in this category, and work on a first-completed, first-
published basis.
The article will be published in HTML format, one or more web pages hosted from
the JavaPerformanceTuning.com website. It will be referenced from the newsletter
that announces it, and from the
tool reports index page.
There is no real length restriction, but if it's too long it won't be readable so
we'll cut it down. It shouldn't be a manual, just enough to explain what and how to
use the tool with a particular example, and how the tool helps identify or solve the
target problems.
